*NOTE: If your board works fine, don't touch it!*

Once you take your board apart, the nuts never stay tight again. They will
always keep coming loose. This is just a fact of nature for all the Snakeboards
made so far. SO, if it aint broke, dont fix it!

However, there some problems you will encounter with your board.
Below is a list of the most common problems AND solutions to fix them,
along with some pictures to help you. If you do not see your problem here,
you know of a problem/solution not listed or you know of an alternate
solution than one you see here, please email us.

PROBLEM: Nuts in the bottom of the trucks constantly come loose.(Skinner, Stiffy, Ashley Freestyle)

SOLUTION: Put a couple drops of "Loc-tite" or any other type of "liquid wrench" onto the threads of the kingpin and put the nut back on. Give it time to dry! If the "locking" plastic inside the nut is too worn, you will need to buy a new nut.

PROBLEM: Plate wobble(from heel-to-toe)

SOLUTION: If you still have the old ROUND shocks(early skinners and stiffys), call snakeboard and they will send you a set of the improved shocks. Then, buy four washers(1mm thick, with diameter same size as the black part of the shocks). Place the washers on the shocks, so they are pressed between the shocks and the trucks.

UPDATE: June 2006 - The "improved" shocks are no longer available. If you can find used ones, you can still apply the 1mm washers.

PROBLEM: Plate wobble(side-to-side)

SOLUTION: The holes in the crossbar, that the bearings are in, get worn, causing them to get enlarged, thus creating extra play in the bearings. We have yet to figure a "MacGyver" to fix this problem. So, for now, u'll need to buy a new bar, or find one that is less worn.

PROBLEM: Wooden plate wear, chipping

SOLUTION: Sandpaper the plate, including the edges(to slow further chipping), so it's nice and smooth. Then, you can either put a big sticker on the worn area or put on a few layers of a good lacquer.
